Yes, fortunately Keystone is in the quite corner of the county and we live in the old part of keystone away from the tourist areas and we side up to national forest and across Soda Ridge road from the snake river...a nice place to be. Eleanor

I've really been enjoying my D800 lately. It took me a while to get used to everything, but now its feeling like an extension of my hand, the way it should be. Here's a recent shoot...

Playing around in C1 again with recent images from the D800e and 35 1.4 Nikon lens with ND filter. This one of Galveston San Luis Pass area looking toward the Gulf of Mexico at sunset. Eleanor
PS---just added a second image of the bridge in this area. RAW processing in C1-7 and toned black and white in Silver Efex Pro2.

I really, really want an RX-1 sized version (with a 24mm f/2!) of this camera. It would be the last I buy, and if it doesn't come out this will be the last.

    With D800 + 24 f/1.4 and the old 85 f/1.8.

This is not quite as artistic as the majority of the images on this thread, but here is what you can do with a simple lens like the 50mm f1.8 G on the D800E. It was at f3.2 and 1600 iso.

What I like in particular is how the color of the foremost boats is colder than the background, which gives a nice feeling of depth. Congrats on this one.

I hereby predict that the 'RX2 sized version' of your camera will have a built-in viewfinder and interchangeable lenses for completion (if you have the patience to wait for it)

Fascinating venue. This amphitheater was discovered and restored within an existing urban setting. For more information on this amazing excavation and restoration go the web site:

    Re: Fun with Nikon Images

Trying to catch up... missed a few in the middle there.

Pramote: The sunrise from Cadillac Mountain is really wonderful... as is everything else you've posted of late... here and in the MF forum.

robsteve: Those shots with the Leica 400 are really impressive, and talk about camera porn! Love the basketball shots as well. That 50 worked really well. I shot my niece's bball game with the D3s and the 85/1.4, and was very happy with the results. Gonna have to try the 50.

Fredrick: Love that moody b/w landscape. Wonderful light.

Eleanor: Badlands, beaches and bridges. Great work all.

Antonio: Kewl stuff. Love the first shot with the birds.. Alfred Hitchcock indeed. And, I really like your processing on these.

Michael: Great to have you posting again... we missed you over on the Leica thread. Looks like things are moving along for you in SoCal. Nice work. Looking forward to more of your posts.

Frankie: Great posts, and I particularly like that "Life always comes out from struggle" shot.

xpixel: I've probably looked at the "Streetfun" shot a dozen times, and I still have no idea how they're doing it. Great catch.

Graham: Really impressive color set. Wonderful stuff!

ausemmao: Wow. That's a really impressive set. Wonderful b/w too.

Aboud: Very cool shot of the Roman theatre. And thanks for including the link, I enjoyed reading about it.

I think that covers everything I haven't yet commented on. Great work everyone. Keep 'em coming!

Swedish forrest with the ability to enjoy the nature at the same time as you smoke. Notice the ashtray on the bench. The image is taken from the lake, so its in a reverse angle from what I normally would shoot it.

    Re: Fun with Nikon Images

Just came back from the Sheikh Zayed Mosque in Abu Dhabi. The weather is perfect since we are heading towards winter with temps around 30 degrees Celcius and slightly below.
This mosque is one of the biggest in the world with many superlatives and non-muslims can even take photos inside when there is no prayer-time. You may click on the link for more information: Sheikh Zayed Mosque - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Unfortunately Photobucket is giving me problems uploading my photos so I just post this one and try to upload more later.

    Greetings, Jurgen
