    Thanks Hulyss,
Impressive - I'll give it a try - I like the grain effect a lot as well.
    Cheers, S.

    Evening!

Here's a shot of what I think are Lenticular Clouds with some other fluffier clouds closer, you may be able to tell I'm not a cloud expert! I like this shot though, driving across the Central Highlands of Iceland.

    Evening!

Well, I just got back from taking my first shots of Swedish Northern Lights this season, not particularly strong and the moon is very bright so far from ideal but hey, it's the Northern Lights so got to give it a go!

Just received a Tamron SP 70-200mm f/2.8 VC Di USD lens. I have to say this lens is every bit as solid as the Nikon equivalent. Sharper too by just a hair. Here is a wide open shot of my little buddy. ISO 6400, D800e, 195mm, 1/50s handheld. Processed in LR5.2 + DxO Filmpack 4.

Oh, I know I can take just as nice photos (albeit lower resolution) with my Fuji X-E1, but the "shock and awe" factor is needed to be taken seriously by customers in the US. Even Zack Arias also shoots with a Phase One.

please tell me more about your mamiya lens hood! i have destroyed all of my 77mm lens hoods, this may be a cheaper alternative than buying new (50$+) lens hoods

It is slightly cheaper ($39.95), but it is the sturdiest rubber lens hood I have ever used. Recommend to me personally by Joe McNally AND Scott Kelby.

I have the same hood, and love it. I kept losing and/or breaking the Nikon hood. This is just the ticket.

Awesome, definitely going to pick one up for my 85. Anyone know if any of the Mamiya hood's work on a 24mm lens? Possibly this one?

    Gino,
I think that lens hood is slip-fit, not screw mount. There is no real way of know whether it fits or not without trying it out. I ordered this one from eBay:

Horusbennu HD-R82 82mm Universal Standard Telephoto Wide Angle Rubber Lens Hood

$17.99 plus free shipping to the US. I ordered this one for the Tamron Sp 24-70mm VC Di USD that I ordered and has an 82mm thread.

I'm not surprised Hulyss, it's not just that she's beautiful but she has that natural quality that you are showing perfectly with your photographs.

I'm wondering if she'd be interested in a 40 year old man, looking a little worse for his years, thinning hair and a bit of a paunch! No, I thought not!

    Pierrard,
those are very impressive stitches - WOW!
    Thanks for sharing, S
Thanks very much! Part of it is necessity due to what I want for composition (having only two (prime) lenses that are not wide angle), and part for the resolution - I do like printing large, and with a 12-MP camera that means lots of images!

I'm getting a 24X36" print of the first one, but I'd love to see what it looks like in full 40X60"!

Well I had an opportunity to field test my Tamron SP 70-200mm f/2.8 VC Di USD in real world conditions. My son's 13th birthday party at a place called SkyZone. Basically a trampoline park. The boys were engaged in an hour of rigorous 3D Dodgeball. Trampolines just make it all the crazier. Here are some highlights:
