    Evening!

I arrived in Taipei this afternoon, had a quick wander around, it's a great place full of life!

I'm not much good at street photography but I liked this one. Hopefully I can get some practice at this type of shot whilst I'm here.

    Evening

A few more from Kinmen Island today, the weather is bleak but it sort of fits with this shot of the sea defences.

And by way of contrast, looking through the door of a toy shop in the old market, amazing place.

    Cheers

Thanks for the ' likes '.

Being somewhat color blind, the printed image
    Comes as a surprise.

Suffering from astigmatism makes me dizzy.

I saw it as blue and grey. And it is not tilted.

Technically, this is not a Nikon image. However, it's a very useful lesson on how to take a selfie with a Nikon, in this case a D2Xs. Just follow your 5 year old instructor

One can't help but to be impressed and amazed by the optics we are so fortunate to be able to acquire for our passion to get detail in our images.
In this case the camera was the Nikon D800E with a 2X tele extender mounted on a 500mm Nikon lens. I was at least 50 yards away from this bird which I estimate was only 12 inches in height. This is a full frame (no cropping)

The gray Singaporean sky isn't the ideal background for aerobatics, but it gives some unusual, almost monochrome, effect.

The Osprey is tricky to get sharp photos of with propeller blur, since the propellers (rotors?) move at very low revs. Here's one at 1/100s, hand held.

    Nikon D90, 50/1.8D.

Intended as a 6-image panorama, but only 4 were used in the final image due to the change in light.
8 exposures averaged for each image used, 15 seconds each = 2 minutes.

There's a really nice aesthetic to this image, almost film like. Now if only you had shot it at 17mm

    Evening.

This isn't a great photograph but I like it because of what it represents, this is taken amongst the sea defences on Kinmen Island, the lights on the horizon are China, so close and yet the defences held and China failed to take the island.

Nicely done Bob. I hope the used 17-35 f2.8 lens I ordered yesterday performs this well.

Now if I could just find subjects to shoot that look this good....

I love wandering the streets here, most houses have bundles of things outside, like nobody wants to throw anything away. The shops and restaurants are the same, pots and pans, supplies, all stored outside next to piles of old bits and bobs.
