    D600 with Voigtlander 28mm f2.8 sl ii.

Seen here with the Fenchurch St. 'Walkie-Talkie' building in the background.
I could have done with that Samyang T/S lens here.

    Hi Jorgen,

Yes, I really like the lens. Step it down to F 11 and it's sharp. Construction seem very well done. The knobs are a bit small but you get used to it. Tilt and shift also work on independent basis as the Canon 24 TS lens. The only thing that is a bit disturbing is the distortion of the lens. I usually try to shoot a bit of a wider frame so I can crop the sides a bit to minimise the distortion. Price is also very interesting as it's around 750 eur where as the Nikon is close to 2000 eur. I have rented the nikon several times and it's very good but I could not justify the price when I bought my TS lens. Using the lens with a D750 is great as you can flip the screen of the nikon and use live view. Makes it really nice and easy. All of the shots in the link as well as the one I posted above were shot handheld ( I had brought my tripod but had left the base plate at home...duh...) Hope this helps. Cheers!

I thought maybe the eye treatment was too much so I made one with less whitening and went with a different crop. I'm also showing one without any retouching which I think is a nice one on its own.

    Fun with Nikon Images

Wow, migrating cranes at 10th of February, that's early, isn't it ?

At least it would be early here in Denmark on latitude 56° 00 N in Europe.
I usually do not see them heading North in large numbers before mid March.

Beautiful shots, Karl-Heinz, you make me optimistic.

Many thanks Steen. Where I live in New Mexico, at an altitude of around 7000 feet, is as far south as Casablanca in Morocco. This year we saw the first cranes heading north about mid January. In another week or so the migration will be over at our location.

Here we have long summers and winters and fairly short springs and autumns weatherwise. Non native plants get fooled by that. Last year the apple trees were in full bloom in April when freezing temperatures and snow came briefly back. No apples that year on our trees. Native trees know better and wait until the cold days are really over.
    With best regards, K-H.

My wife of 56 years and I ventured out yesterday looking for photo opportunities with the snow and ice we have here. D800E, 24~70 f2.8 Tamron VC lens, at 70mm, ISO 200, 1/250 sec f13, hand held. I am impressed with the sharpness of this lens. Actual pixels on the garvey reveal a very sharp image that will certainly hold up to 20"x30".
    Thanks for looking

Two more from the other day's shoot. D800E ,Tamron 70-300mm VC hand held. One made at 70mm (the ropes) and one at 240mm (the garvey boat), both f13. This lens, like it's 24-70 VC mate is a real bargain...very sharp.

    Re: Fun with Nikon Images

While you are there Alex and perhaps heading east, do pay a visit to Benedetti in the Negrar Valley est of Lago di Garda, and buy one of their Amarone from 2009. You won't regret. Its not expensive, and its not such a fancy place like the Barolo district , but in mine opinion better.

Thorkil, thank you for your suggestion. I will I promise when I get back to Italy!
(I use OneNote to store places I want to visit so there's a new record.. And the purpose is even better! )
