The D300 is entering a new life as an underwater camera. Bought a plastic bag from Korea and tested it in the pool today. Worked as advertised

    D300 with Tamron 17-50mm f/2.8 @ f/8 and 26mm

Jorgen, that is marvelous. The image and the underwater housing.
Are the covers for a particular make of camera or do they work with other models?

And hey guys, thanks a lot for the ' likes '.

    Kind regards.

    Thank you, Rayyan.

    This is the one:
    http://www.ebay.com/itm/181661096204...%3AMEBIDX%3AIT

It will work with any camera up to D300 size (I guess the D810 would fit as well), but when a large camera like this goes in, body and lens have to go in separately, body from the top and lens from the front. With some practice, this was very easy to use and loads of fun. I'm sure it has its limitations though. I wouldn't take it for a dive to the Titanic

Please tell me if you want one, Rayyan. I can act as an in-between. There was no import duty into Thailand and shipping costs are minimal.

    Nikon F6 + 35mm f/2 AF-D
    Superpan 200

I've added a Zoom-Nikkor 25-50mm f/4 AI-S the mix... found a nice one at a reasonable price. It should also work with the TC-16a AF Teleconverter, netting me a manual focus 25-50 for both F and F6, as well as an auto-focus 40-80 for the F6. I'm not usually a zoom user; this should be fun to learn. :-)

While the 500mm was on the camera, I took this photo of a dorma situated on a roof of a Newport R I mansion. The dorma is about 40 yards off the ground.

Just curious ... Which 500mm lens is that? There's a little touch of barrel distortion in that photo, just a hair of it. Otherwise, it's cracking sharp!

I have a Sigma 600mm f/8 mirror lens in Nikon mount. I should try it on the F6, just for grins. It cost me somewhere around $90 a year or two ago.

Nikon 500mm f4 prime. In the case of this image I had the 1.4 Nikon extender on the lens. This lens is razor sharp

    Re: Fun with Nikon Images

3 months ago, while visiting General Santos in The Philippines, I stopped at a fishing village to take photos of boats and people. Since I had a great time there, I decided to go back to give some prints to the children who posed so willingly during my last visit. It took a couple of hours in the rain, but what a treat! A cool reminder that giving something back is sometimes more fun than stealing the images in the first place

Not a great photo, but a good example of what can be achieved with the combination of a great camera and great software, Adobe's new Anti Haze filter being the most important contributor. Photo shot through the windshield of a moving pickup truck at dusk on a rainy day.
