Very nice; great subject. I wonder what it would look like with a 10-stop ND filter?

Shot was taken from a moving boat; had to jack up the ISO to 1,000 in order to get the shutter speed high enough to mask the motion. The Nikon 24-70 doesn't have VR.

    Testing the 70-200 f4

I have my eyes set on that lens. The 180mm f/2.8 AF can't seem to resolve 36MP well when focused to infinity, and the 80-200 AF-S is too heavy for some of my travel. Please keep posting

Thank you, Jorgen. I must apologize for the jpeg rendering. The lens is quite sharp so I feel you can order one without any qualms.

I must add that it is light and very responsive to the AF since it doesn't have to move the weight of the 2.8 glass. You really don't need a tripod mount. I know, I know, shoot with a tripod. However, today I was lazy and left the tripod in the trunk of my car but I don't feel the images have suffered one bit. The VR works great and it is easier to shoot hand held than my Otus.

One more. 70-200 f4 @ 95mm. But seriously, the jpeg compression is just ruining the sharpness of this lens.

This is typically a lens I would use without a tripod, so probably won't buy one. When I have room for a tripod, I mostly have room for the bigger lens as well. I don't have any qualms ordering it. My poor, beaten up wallet seems to have though

    Tough day in the surf

As some of you may know we have started tropical-like rains due to a stalled front. It's been raining hard since a bit after noon time and I've already recorded over 4". We are supposed to have three more days of this as the hurricane passes off shore. The flooding will most likely be widespread.
I caught this guy and then as he passed me (I was on the pier) I heard a loud snap.

    Playing with the 70-200 f4

Out on the beach today after all the rain. I discovered the focus of this lens needed some adjustment with the AF fine tune and added a +2. This image was shot before the adjustment but focus doesn't really matter with this image. BTW, this guy apparently doesn't realize the tide is coming in!

I have had very little use from my D810 since my A7RII arrived but because of its particular talents I am keeping it. Today I took it for a nice Autumnal stroll with the Sigma 50 Art and I have to say, I had forgotten how much arse it kicks!

    70-200 f4 example of sharpness

I spent some time the other afternoon "dialing in" this lens with the AF fine tune. I ended up with a +2 adjustment.

    Nikon D700 - Nikkor 50mm f/1.4.

Photo of my -92 Porsche, taken at 5 o´clock in the morning when the mist from the ocean is still hanging in the air. The process of taking the photo was to set up a camera and a strobe-light mounted on a long tripod and then take one exposure, move the light source and the repeat the steps 13 times. All exposures are then merged together in Photoshop to process the photo so that the highlights from all exposures are visible.
The whole process is described here: http://photopia.no/teknikk/44-produktfoto-av-bil
Sorry for the text in Norwegian, but I guess you understand by looking at the pictures.
