Now there's a plan! We should do another local get-together. Seriously, let me noodle this and figure something out.

You'll have to supply your own scotch, but FaceTime or Skype would bring you to the gathering.

I'll start with the liquids, just to be prepared. Unfortunately, the only bottle here is a Caol Ila, a relatively modest Islay whisky. I'll try to find another one and see if this Skype thing works... or FaceTime? Isn't that some Apple feature? This computer has an illustration of some spoiled fruit on the lid. Might work then...

    Re: Fun with Nikon Images

While no camera that I've tried can compete with the all round competence of the D810, few if any can mimic the old school Velvia look of the D2Xs. The gritty, deeply saturated files that it produces at ISO 400 when the light is right, particularly when paired with a film era prime lens, are simply unique. It's a much loved camera, and I haven't excluded the thought of buying another one. They are silly cheap now.

When it comes to racing photography, the D2Xs + the ancient 300mm f/4 is still a combo that is hard to beat. All this talk about D7200 and the fantastic 200-500mm f/5.6... I'll hold my horses for now.

I've been doing races for ten years. My archive is full of these ladies. Better to concentrate on the cars. Here's another girl, from Myeik yesterday morning, much cuter

I went to take some photos today, of brave men in the wet.

But the weather was gray, and there was water from above as well, so I went for some alternative non-action instead. Hope you don't mind
