Douglas, very, very nice image. I had the 135 for a brief time and it was unbelievably stellar. Unfortunately I just couldn't deal with the weight and actually the focal length is not my favorite. Maybe if it had had a tripod mount...
Good to see you don't share my problems!

Thanks very much, John. The 135 certainly is big and heavy, but I put up with that for the results it produces. It is, as you say, a stellar optic.

.... but mine is not, since I bought it just a couple of days ago, to be shared with my son who will be visiting for Christmas. It's great how good taste is so easy to pass down to the next generation, isn't it?

At this level it definitely is easy ... shared memories that last well past our short time.

I've just observed very strange thing today (I did not post pictures for a long time). The pictures uploaded to the "Gallery" had poor color quality and colors kept changing from time to time. I repost again with the picture linked to Flickr. I probably will use pictures linked to Flickr from now on.

Don't tempt me. I've always wanted the 28mm, but the price, the price. The AiS f/2 will have to do for now.

Price seems to have gone a bit down. Around $1,700 from Japan at the moment for what seems to be very nice copies. Unfortunately, I need the 200-500 more than this

Very impressed with the little Nikkor AFS 85mm f1.8G - its feel so light compared to my old AF-D 85mm f1.4.......

It will defiantly get used a lot more.... so much easier to pop in the camera bag.

    Happy Festive Season folks.

Lovely image -- I'm off for a few days in Joshua Tree NP and then to visit relatives, looking forward to giving my new 85 f/1.8 it's first serious workout.

Our Christmas Card for this year, in honor of my Father, whom I do not remember. He died at age 29, when I was three. He was a noted LBI Fine Art Photographer, as well as an Electrical Engineer.
    Merry Christmas.
