Thanks for the feedback Roman et al.

Worth the time and effort (and I didn't have a lot of time as I was competing with half a dozen other photographers for my model).

Since I'm in the food mood, here's another one from last week. No lights, but we did have a window table. Oh, and it's also a self portrait, upside down, but still

Great shot, Jorgen. And a nice, albeit subtle, selfie. Had you not mentioned the window light, I would have guessed a studio setting with a very large softbox. And, I'm sorry you have to get by on such meager fare. Hope you're not wasting away from starvation!

(Thanks for the comment on my shot, btw.)

Another version. Made this with the new update to Silver Efex Pro 2, which I just received today. I compared it to the same preset in the earlier version, and this is much better. Unfortunately, I didn't keep the conversion with the older version.

    re: Fun with Nikon Images

Summer is gone and Fall is nearly at it's peak here in southcentral Alaska. I uploaded a few images from the CF card in my D2X this past weekend and this one really sticks with me. This image was taken in August. I could easily go for an "endless summer" right about now....at least for a few years.

D2X and my 50mm f1.4 AIS lens....I'm still impressed with the combination of manual focus Nikkor lenses on the D2X.

    re: Fun with Nikon Images

    silver efex is awesome.

i actually kept both versions alive...for specific reasons. version 2 creates better images, i think. BUT it cannot be used to create grain on a non-image layer (i.e., 50% gray soft light). you can see the pattern it uses, and its ugly. version one creates a nice layer of grain that doesn't artifact. this is useful when doing extensive retouch on an area, such as extreme liquify or reconstructing an area.

Terrific photo of the bubble girl Lloyd! Ditto Steve on the photos of the girl taken with the 85mm lens.

Nothing adorable or cute about this beast. It's all business....imagine the power and torque behind that grill.

I tried to convince them that there was room for one more, but no... traffic safety and not more than three on a scooter and whatnot. Not easy to be an old man with tired feet these days

These guys, on the other hand, were more than happy to offer me a ride. But then, miraculously, my feet recovered, and I was suddenly able to walk those 200 meters back to the pit lane. One of nature's mysteries if you ask me

Trying to catch up a bit on some shots I missed.

Conrad: Nicely seen and captured. You ought to be getting some color soon, eh?
Carlos: Very kewl dance series. Nice light.
    Peter: That's a stunner!
Rayyan: I like the singer, but can't hear the song on my old speakers. Very nice b/w too.
Gary: What is it they say about old truckers? They never die, the just get a new Peterbuilt? Is that one? Nice shot.
Jorgen: Sorry you had to hoof it. Kewl shots... as always.
Roman: No argument from me. Beautiful.
