Beautiful images. I especially like that first one. The dock reducing to the vanishing point is very effective.
Matt...So Fricken Awesome!!!:salute:
Very good, Matt, very, very good!
Lloyd/Steve/Jorgen: Thank you, gentlemen! :D I drove my wife to a "book club" she's thinking of joining; and, found myself in Kirkland with some spare time and a camera (well, there's always a camera).

Cheers, Matt

Matt, these are de killer shots!! With a Glock!! And thanks pal for your encouragement. The plaque is real! insert [ salute ].
Matt, simply and stunnigly beautiful!!:thumbs::thumbs:
Rayyan: Thank you, sir! :D That plaque just seemed like a contemporary joke with the "nose thumbing". I guess such gestures are timeless.

Aye Matt, what they said! I can almost feel the cool breeze. Nice!
Tim
Tim: Thanks! :D The breeze around here is more of a cold February one! Sorry, a petty complaint compared to Lloyd's on-going Winter.

Cheers, Matt

Thanks Matt.

Here's the story:
The monks, who are all children from 6 to 12, are only monks for a few weeks. Most of them come from poor families in a nearby area. It's normal for monks to go out and get food from people in the morning, but these were about one hundred. The event was apparently well announced in advance, and people gave them lots of food and.... sweets. That's not the usual monk diet, but I guess they made an exception for these guys :)

I stumbled upon them by coincidence, and followed them around for an hour. I can assure you: it was an extremely emotional experience.

For Buddhists, giving food to monks is an important part of the religious life, so this exercise is generally seen as very positive for all involved.

Jorgen: Very cool. You can see the emotion and happiness in the women's faces. It is prayer through giving. :salute:

My images posted from flickr seem to disappear fast. Dunno why.

Testing with this one of my son and the doggie in the woods today - mostly hikable again (the woods, that is :D)
