You're right. The sky is almost always amazing. It's one of my most favorite places.
I've only been there one time, and that was a very long time ago, but it's easy to see why you love it.

Lots of great work here guys! I have not contributed for a while. Little things like renovating the house have kept me occupied and left little time for getting out with the cameras. This is from an event I photographed recently.

    Peter: That's a stunner!

Ben: Looks like a good time. Nice b&W. BTW, haven't seen that lens used around here for some time. Always was a fav of mine.

Thanks Lloyd. As much as I would love to have the 24-70, this old cheap glass just amazes me. It is a solid, reliable lens for a push pull zoom.

This is another image from a couple days ago with the 35-70 2.8, Nikon SB-800 off camera and a reflector.

I've missed so much! I'm still reeling from the revelations of the "DP Shows How to Do Fine Art" thread. I clearly have so much to learn. Like shooting at f29.

A short visit with a leather craftsman yielded this little bauble:

I have to give credit where credit is due - that shot was my 14-yr old daughter's idea. She has a great eye.

I am particularly excited tonight because a few short hours ago, I shot what I believe to be my best frame yet. It is now making rounds within the fashion community on tumblr, twitter and other social platforms.

During the Oscar de la Renta fashion show:

Rayyan: Great/bold statement! But your pictures in any case (and with any camera all the more) will be of the same quality, simply distinguished by the "Rayyan-Signature".

Hermann, thank you very much. Where are hiding yourself?

    Appreciate your encouragement.

Rayyan: By no means "hiding". But though, like you, "I have run out of money for new cameras ...", (cf. my reply # 4243) and although still fully content with my D 700, I'm just now trying to get familiar with my back-up Sony NEX 5N and a few MF lenses. Great fun as well. But that doesn't hold me back from enjoying the pictures here and in the Leica threads (and of course we have to visit the Canon thread now as well, since Steve is pulling out all the stops ).

    Take care!
    Best regards - Hermann

Joe, a very big thank you.

Hermann, congratulations on the Nex. Let's see some pics from that.

    Kindest regards.

Lovely feeling of speed in that one, Rayyan.
