Hey, more train rails. I confess to having yielded to the temptation of trying some textures and tones.

    re: Fun with Nikon Images

Sunrise Point, Bryce Canyon National Park. We were there just after sunrise last Friday morning. It was COLD!! The wind was howling, it was hard to even stand against it, and at one point I had to hand my nearly 30lb backpack from the tripod to keep it steady in the wind. At a place and time that can be crowded with photographers, we saw only 4 other hardy souls, and they all thought the wiser of it, and ran for cover shortly after arriving, leaving us alone. We stayed for an hour, and when we returned to our car it had warmed up to a balmy 3 degrees F (-16 Celsius.)

    D3s, 24-70/2.8

Here's a BTS shot of my ever-patient Mimi:

Lloyd, One of the places I wish to visit someday. But not in the weather you
    mention.

The light is superb, the scenery is hugely magnificent and the photography
    more so.

But guess what surpasses them all? Your lovely Mimi braving the cold to be
    with you.

My warmest regards to the both of you. -16C...!!

You're absolutely right, Rayyan. No doubt about that! Come to see it! And there is much more in the area. We'll go there together. I've been here 16 times over the past 17 years, and always in winter. I'd love to see it in warm weather sometime. And it's only about 3.5 hours from home for me.

Rayyan: Big +1! Matt (BTW: glad, you're back after quite a while) intimately found the right words, as usual.

Lloyd: Really enjoy your pictures of Brice Canyon and particularly the one featuring "Nanook"- Mimi , all the more it brings back wistful memories of my visits to that overwhelming place, when snow covered, but thank goodness, as well in midsummer.
