FYI, my shot was 16-35VR on D700 after hiking to Mouse Creek Falls in North Carolina last year. Great day except for getting soaked on the hike back out! My shot was off a bridge past the falls, pretty much the end of the trail for the most part.

Thanks all, I was really happy with that one too. It was my best effort so far with the new toolbox. I added some fog to the trees, to actually give them less pop in the background, diffused them some as well. I added brightness intensity to the white capping of the stream as well in Color Efex III. I used SEFII to create a frame, then stole the frame in Photoshop to put back onto my color image, because neither LR3, nor any other NIK plug in has frame capability that I saw. I happened to think, just pop a copy of the image into SEFII, frame it, open in CS5, then overlay the color image over the framed BW image, it's a little convoluted, but a little easier than creating a frame.

I think the learning experience was good, and I see the tools improving my final output.

Gosh, great bear shots, but 200mm? you were a little close for comfort to a griz!

yikes.

Matt, Doug - excellent shots!!!! :thumb: :thumb:

some San Fran shots

Great set (as always), Ryan. I really love the first one above. That last one reminds me of a blind date in college. (And I was looking in the mirror at the time! ;))

A Grizzly bear pinup!! Nice!

(Actually, all three are beyond nice.)
Hah! Bear porn. Looking good Matt!

Photojazz: That last shot is exceptional. I like the treatment of the canopy leaves much better than the other one. Very nice work!

My only offering today came from a 10 minute walk away from the computer. They're a bit watery.

Best,
Tim

Steve/Hermann/Lloyd/Doug/Bob: Thank you, gentlemen. :D
We were in a zodiac that was about 20' offshore +/- with a very experienced guide. No sudden movements or noises; just look and shoot. There were times when the 200mm was to long! Very, very, limited number of people allowed into this sanctuary under very bear-sensitive conditions. Only two guides licensed and you have to be guided.

Cheers, Matt

Great set Ryan! Makes me want to go back there. Very photogenic city and you've managed to capture some of the most photographed areas in a fresh way.

Thanks guys for the kind words. Simply felt like posting some color (or none) without special meaning... :)

Had some fun with some 2010 images, playing with new tools. I bought the Complete NIK collection. So I went in and out of LR3 quite a bit, stacking versions from Color Efex, and all other tools in the Complete Collection except Silver Efex 2. I did use silver efex 2 to swipe the frame in last image. It seems like one of the other tools would have framing, not found it yet though.

and the last one I did, I felt really good about:

Beautiful, Doug. Can feel the stream!

(note: the angle on the second one posted above was a bit unsettling for me, can't say why...)

+1.
Absolutely terrific, again, Matt.
The girls love them (and send their regards) :)

Great SF series Ryan. Particularly fond of the three quoted, but they're all quite nice.

Great use of the even shallower FF DOF, Tim.
Composition and colors are spot on, too.
