Easter spent at home is not our usual way, normally we chase the tail of winter for some skiing in the mountains - but this year; with great pleasure. Unbelievable weather and early spring (I know I´ve said so before:eek:).
This from today´s outing to the woods - a bit up to avoid the birch pollen. Forecast said 20C and was right. :)

Leif: Nicely done. Boy that dog's a picture stealer. Once again, I have to marvel at the differences in where we all live and the commonality of posting here.

Cheers, Matt.

Another lovely shot, Leif.
Though you guys are incredible (or unprepared?): 20°, T-shirts but... hot coffee thermos. :loco:

(slightly down south here we have a record April weather: for the last three weeks, 25°C+ daytime average, up to 30°C  Hot beverages? No, thanks...)
Coffee? Always!
Thanks, btw.:D

Finally had the perfect day to set fire to the scraps from last year's wood cutting operation. We usually burn a brush pile once a year but this was by far the largest we've ever done. There's a few scary moments right after the thing really gets going and the power and uncontrollable nature of the fire becomes clear. Fortunately we'd planned carefully and in no time, it was simply a contained inferno.

Best,
Tim

Very impressive images Tim. The power of the inferno is apparent.

The hope of Spring at last? I hope so. More than 3 feet of snow in the mountains last week, and more coming this week, but apparently there is hope. :)

Hot stuff, Tim. Can feel the inferno.
And yeah it has to be quite  when things eventually get "less contained" than planned...

These convey hope indeed, Lloyd.

Different story here: after the unusual, long and snowy winter, we practically had no spring till now but... more like a record early summer. So in a couple of weeks time there's lush greens all around and even, some harvesting.

A scene just down a large fortified medieval castle, mostly hidden behind the trees -last year in April one could see the whole walls...
