Posted several more pics of this plane in another thread.....but thought I share a couple here too.

I picked up the 35mm f1.8G DX lens earlier this week and on the D2x, it just plain works. Surprisingly good optics and build quality for a $200 lens.

The D2x itself has never let me down.
Very nice, Gary. Those are really beautiful images. I love the files from the D2x. Thanks for the reminder.

I picked up one of those lenses to use on my D300. Definitely a bargain, and a great performer!

Northern Air Cargo Douglas DC-6 at the Alaska Aviation Heritage Museum

Wow..the best planes ever made..except the DC-3, which remains the ultimate airplane.
Lovely captures.

Thank you Steve.

Italian cars should be red and fast... Alfast :)

D2Xs with Tamron 17-50 @ 50mm, f/25 and 1/20s (Yes, I do need an ND filter)

I really love this shot Jorgen.....you captured the feeling of motion and speed so well here! I've always had a thing for the Alfa coupes, so really enjoyed seeing this one.

Thanks for the comments on the DC-6 Lloyd, Rayyan and Jorgen!

Fine DC-6 shots, Gary. Those old Douglas airliners were all lovely, the DC-4, DC-6 and DC-7.
To get photos of each of these Douglas airplane models...that would be a fun project. I probably won't be able to find all of them here in Alaska however.

The books of old spoke about mysteries. Of rocks and sand. Of castles and

gold. Hidden from the eyes of those that passed. The invisible sentinels

guarded the entrance to the hidden kingdom.

The books spoke of evil that would befall those that lay eyes on the tombs of

long forgotten kings..

So on a camel, carrying my camera and coffee, I ventured forth.

In search of the Lost Ark. A modern day Raider you might say...

Great shot, Rayyan. Is that Petra? 30 years ago, I spent a full week in Aqaba without going to Petra. I'm not very smart you know ;)

All those new, little cameras without a viewfinder... they've got it all wrong you know. Young, smart photographers know that real cameras should have one.

Rayyan: Simply beautiful. And again a truly "rayyanesque" story.
Just so. Yes indeed. :clap::clap::clap:

Hermann, Lloyd, Jorgen...really really appreciate your kind words guys.:salute:

Yes, this is Petra. Good scuba diving in Aqaba? We are still young to visit a few places guys.

Take care and the best to you all.

Thanks, Rayyan.

Here's something completely different. 20 minutes left of a 6 hour race. Nothing more will happen, or so I thought and went back to the pit lane :banghead: , since most drivers tend to safeguard their position that close to the finish. Except Mr. Pitsanu, who found some extra speed through an s-curve. A bit too much it appears. He was shaken, but physically unhurt by the accident. Lost his position though...
