Zeiss ZF.2 vs ZF

I know that ZF.2 is chipped for full EXIF and eliminates the need to manually set lens max f/stop. Is that the only difference... are the optical formulations of these lenses the same? Thanks.

No difference in the glass at all that I'm aware of. The changes are really all to do with usability and auto selection of the f/stop from the camera body.
