The old 180 still shines

Nice looking shots indeed! I really like the one of the trumpet player. Which 180 is that JT?

I had purchased a used 180/2.8D from KEH earlier this year, but it was defective (autofocus would not work consistently). I sent it back and ended up buying a new 80-200/2.8D lens instead.

Gary, it is the AF version with the wrinkled paint finish.
That's the same model I had purchased....I might have to try for a good one again.

By the way....that was also a nice photo of the (young?) blond woman and gray haired (older) man. I liked the color version better, but I'm guessing you wanted a different "look" with your B&W conversion.

Here's just a quick B&W conversion I did which to my eye is closer to the look of your original color image.

Either way.....it's a nice lens!

gary, thanks for the editing. It definitely looks better than what I did. My intention was to darken the surroundings and bring focus to the sweet spot :) But no question you editing is better than what I did :)
