Totally agree on the 85mm 1.8G.. it's better for many situation's,cheaper and a lot lighter and just as good at 1.8 as the 1.4G.. It has another differentiator. it can give great flare if you want it, (due to the lack of coating's I believe..)The 85 1.8 is really nice and I like it almost as much as the 1.4 but the 70-200 f4 is really good and a great call over the 2.8. I will have to sell mine though to get the Zeiss 135 f2 as ill have no choice since my photo budget is zero right now. The medical bills are absolutely outrageous from my wife's brain surgery. :banghead:
I empathise with your family's medical situation,I have been through a similar situation for over two decade's.. I had a head injury in a bike accident in 1990.. it wrecked me,I had 4 back op's and had my right arm broken ,set badly and re-broken to reset it.. a real ball buster..I was still unable to even look through a viewfinder for another 15yrs bacuase no one could figure out that I had something called idiopathic intracranial hypotension ...i have had about 18 mri's and nuclear medicine in the last few years and no face another op in North carolina soon... :wtf: .. sorry for the rant
Anyway I believe (from a post you made on LL) your wife is recovering from what I know is not just physically tough but mentally, emotionally and spiritually draining too,..i wish her the best.. health is wealth..
Be optimistic about the future, you could end up with another Phase soon..life is like that..
