No, Antonio, I'm no longer so sure I'm going for the D810 (despite how nice and addictive the high resolution is).
The D810 is pretty much what I have been waiting for, but in the meantime I have become so happy with the D610 that I have more or less decided to just stick with that, at least for now.
The D610 has a punchy contrast curve and vibrant colors straight out of the box, and I really like that as a nice and easy starting point in post processing (don't know how much of this is due to the physical sensor and how much is due to the firmware / camera profile working in the processor).
And so far the autofocus has worked fine for me, I've had no problems at all, then again I haven't exactly shot sports or birds in flight with it.
Admittedly there's a couple of drawbacks with the D610, like no option to program the center OK button to zoom-in to a preset magnification on playback - I mean, it only takes a couple of program lines in the firmware (in other words nothing but the same old stupid camera-crippling strategy, and in my opinion an immensely silly choice).
An AF-ON button and 1/8000 sec shutter speed would also be nice, but I can survive without it.
I would also prefer that it had no blurring filter, but it's not a deal breaker for me despite myself being an incurable pixel peeper.
In a way sharpness is the single most overrated quality in photography (except maybe for macro photography).
And for me the AA-filtering is probably more of a psychological issue.
If I know that someone has put a blurring filter in front of my sensor, I can't keep myself from constantly looking for the influences by zooming into the picture, like when the tongue revolves around a hollow tooth
So the rumored D750 may be a new temptation for me provided it comes without a blurring filter (I don't need the enhanced speed).
It is said to come with the same 24 Mp sensor that I have come to like so much in the D610.
We'll see, it also depends on the price point of the coming D750 or whatever its name will be (the D610 I found at a quite sensible and affordable campaign price).
