Nikon 1 V3 blur background "filter" ??

Hi,
I'm interested in finding how and how well the feature on a Nikon 1 V3 that allows you to blur the background works.
Does it take place in a single shot or stack frames?
Do you get to set how much blur?
Any help is appreciated.
