Here is a side by side comparison of 3 50mm lenses i currently own:

this McFarlane toy was shot available light on a sturdy ArcaSwiss Z1 tripod head and Gitzo 3-series tripod legs and manual focusing is done via D700's Live View feature. Manual Exposure using Sekonic light meter.

I leave to you who the winner is. The loser--as you may have figured out already--is me...because i should be out there making real pictures instead of doing this mundane lens tests.

The PentaxSuper Takumar is one of the few lenses known to have taken an in-focus picture of Godzilla while he munched on Ginza.
It holds a special place because of that.
