Yours' really fun, JasonHa... Lloyd... I was just editing a similar shot. Yours is wonderful!!
Have to admit, this was my first newborn shoot. Eeek.
Thanks Corlan. BTW, that color is straight out of the camera.Terrific, Lloyd. Really.
And who said Nikon could'nt handle skin tones?
I agree. Nicely done.Yours' really fun, Jason
LLoyd.. I keep looking at this shot and I love the inclusion of the hands in frame. It really makes this shot brilliant!Did some newborn shots for my daughter-in-law's sister yesterday.

That is a fun, interesting, and beautifully lit portrait. Great post; looking forward to many more!Six fun-loving grandchildren having fun at our home during Thanksgiving '09. Nikon D700, 24-70mm f/2.8.
Thank you Jason. I'm honored. I like to include the mother's hands to give some scale, and a sense of the maternal connection. I've also found that stopping down just a bit with the 85 gives a little depth and detail that I'd lose shooting that lens wide open.LLoyd.. I keep looking at this shot and I love the inclusion of the hands in frame. It really makes this shot brilliant!
Lloyd: +1. Very nice. Your soft colors really suit the subject. Cheers.LLoyd.. I keep looking at this shot and I love the inclusion of the hands in frame. It really makes this shot brilliant!
Works for me! A photo no mother could resist. Very pretty. Cheers.Matt... I'm with ya. Frankly, I blew the shot. I was just following her around the house with the baby and was using spot metering and forgot to take into account the window behind her, so it's literally blown out.
Thankfully, she wanted an artistic baby close up, so I came up with this:
John: Fun portrait. Very stylish. I can understand the look on the lone boy's face! Cheers.Six fun-loving grandchildren having fun at our home during Thanksgiving '09. Nikon D700, 24-70mm f/2.8.
Beautiful! Delicate colors seem just right.Did some newborn shots for my daughter-in-law's sister yesterday.

Thanks! You are SOOOOOOOO RIGHT about this town VIBRATING!!!!! I really can't ever remember this much commotion about any football game at any time in any era. N.O. is a long-time party town, but this town (now bigger than N.O. by a good margin) is beginning to drown out the fans in that city to our south!John, wonderful family & fun shot! btw....Baton Rouge must be Hopping! Go Saints!
