John: Fun portrait. Very stylish. I can understand the look on the lone boy's face! Cheers.

The lone boy in the picture (my grandson Cameron) has been the only male out of six grandchildren until the 18th of December '09 - when Braden, his new cousin, was born. He is ecstatic!!!! to be releived of that situation. This is a picture of Cameron with his new cousin (Braden) flanked by Cameron's dad and Braden's father. Look at the beam on his face! /URL][/QUOTE]

John, you're really not going to take a picture of me, are you...I've had WAY too much Champagne (Barbara C. - a neighbor, at our Progressive Dinner during '09).
I' really enamored with the way the 85mm 1.4D lens renders in normal, party environments indoors. It's almost as good as my 135mm f/2.0DC outside!

As long as I'm at the computer, here's another from a shoot with a new model. She wanted "edgy"... a word I've come to hate :)

Erin, grandaughter (15). This is a typical rendering of the 135mm f/2.0DC @f2.5 on D700 outside. Pin sharp - I obviously got a good copy.

Very nice John -- I love the 135/2...it is my general purpose tele, and I love the way it draws.

Here are a few from last night...I went out to photograph on a cold night, had very little in the way of aurora, but then and went to photograph the geothermal powerplant that heats most of Reykjavík. It was pretty dark...a moon would have helped.

JohnA: Well you took her picture anyway. The 85 f/1.4 is one of my favorite lenses.

DavidK: Beautiful landscape and "edgy" portrait. It is an overused word.

JohnA: Stunning portrait of your beautiful granddaughter.

Stuart: Those are great night shots. The one with the aurora's beautiful. Good job getting the power plant and the sky. If I might ask: what lens and exposures were you using?

Cheers,

My computer is too slow, my clock is too fast, my father is in hospital and I'm running around in circles. Here's a photo anyway, from Singapore earlier this week. See you when I surface, if ever.

D80 with 300mm f/4 @ f/4.5
