Looking forward very much to seeing more of your Cuba shots here and on the other thread. It is a place most photographers would love to visit, including me.

    All the best.
David, I will do my best to work on some more files soon but I am completely jetlegged after 14 hours in the plane because we had to make a stop in Cancun, Mexico first.

It turned out a fine combination; the Ricoh with 4 small lenses together with the Sigma DP3m. Fitted well in a small and old looking bag. I used the 25 Biogon and the VC 15 the most and the Leica 50 'cron and 90 Elmarit much less. Also I was mostly in citys because we traveled by buses and therefore had less opportunitys to shoot landscapes and villages.

Very pretty, classic 1950s Nokton styling. Supposedly the lens formula is the same ... I'd hate to see that changed, the LTM version is so darn good.

I was out shooting with the GXR this morning, with Nokton 40/1.4 and Color Skopar 28/3.5. Been a while since I took it for a walk. A photo or two soon...

    Hi Godfrey,

Yes, I saw that before we left. The lens does really look nice but I have to many LTM and M mount lenses already

Look forward to your photo's, this thread can use some activation.

Like you, I have way too many lenses as it is to consider buying another. What I should do is rationalize my lens kit and then update it with the Zeiss 25 and new Nokton 50/1.5... but I won't. ;-)

From this morning's work, first picture up:

It's hard not to like this camera ...

    Very nice pictures Michael!
The VC 15/4.5 are doing very well (must bring it to Copenhagen soon)
My favorites are the horse(the reserve to the american car getting repared I guess, or perhaps you just stepped down from it?) and the horse+the carpenter, very nice colours.

Thank you Thorkil! (You are so fast!)

This was between 6 and 7 in the morning when I was wondering about in Holguin. I liked the abstraction of the lines on the street as well.

    both yes and no, Michael.
No to these lines on the street, while at first glance I thought that they were annoying, too distracting, too much taken attention from the "stilleben", Still-life behind, together with the boy, which has this strange and peculiar harmony, almost weird (isolated seen, a touch of Rene Magritte).
But on the other hand yes in a way, while the picture might be too quit without them, too simple (and therefore too boring). Like the red dot in an abstract painting, that are drawing the attention, and while doing it, it makes this weird balance, that look like an unbalance, but isn't, while it hides the treasure, and therefore open a longer lasting attention. So the unbalance becomes a balance. One could call it a sort of hidden tension.(can you see it?)
And therefore it might be a yes...

In Cuba it is so easy to get up at 6, because it is to hot in bed or you went to bed to early, because the sun goes down to early.
The best things one can not explain because after an explanation the riddle is solved and therefore boring. We create images because we have no words.

    Nice shots Kameleo!

Does anyone knows if Ricoh is going to release an updated GXR body and M-mount module? I have waited for more than a year by skipping the current GXR + M-mount module, and bought a GRDIV last year. Looked up the camera rumor sites but nothing much on Ricoh.

Any info from any of you will be much appreciated.

I read a rumour somewhere a couple of weeks ago that there will no more Ricoh camera updates except for the GRD line now that they have merged with Pentax. The GXR body and M Mount are going for very reasonable prices at the moment though. I got mine for £450

There just is no news, only speculations.
(BTW you can buy a GXR body for only € 146,- on Ebay.)

It will be a shame if somehow Ricoh decides to discontinue the GXR line of product. I think the M-mount module is still one of the better options to mount Leica glasses. However, with the product options out there, Ricoh will really have to improve further on the GXR + M-mount to be competitive.

    Michel, thanks for the info.

It would be a shame if they discontinued it, but it is such a good camera just as it is, I'd recommend just grabbing one and enjoying it. It is the best digital body for RF lenses available today, short of the Leica M digital bodies themselves (and in some ways, it out does even the M9... I have both and there are times when I know I really should be using the GXR instead of the M9). I might even buy a second one, as it really does the business very well indeed.

( Or not. I have way more cameras than I have time to enjoy them just at the moment. :-| )

There is a clear difference in those stairs; one is higher leading to the door of ? and the other one with handrail for the lord himself.

I am glad it is snowing in Italy as well

Michael, you are right, also in the actual time, at the right some teaching german carpenter, has very carefull restored the house, but somehow they are getting overdone, but thats a bit unfair for me to say, while they often do it in a very proper way, but some of the soul disapear naturally, and yes....that at the poor side is far more interesting.
They have sort builded the houses together in a sort of organic way, about the years around 1700.

Please pardon me if this is old news, or if I'm spreading bad info, but B&H website says: "GXR Body...discontinued." Is this the end?
