Exposure Fusion of 3 images taken today with the DP2Q

And a two-shot "pano" (top to bottom)

They both look good. particularly the 1st.

I see you are continuing to experiment.

Do you still find the Super-high w minimal noise reduction to give you your best results ?

Indeed I am.

The first probably looks the most "Merrill".

Perhaps the new upcoming SPP and firmware will move the process further forward.

Super high is good, very good. I think using Photozoom Pro might just edge it.

The Merrill look is in there...waiting to break free....

I caved and picked up the DP2Q today. No big surprises after reading and viewing great DP2Q images by Quentin and Uwe in this forum. Now I have two approx. 40 MP little wonders for travel (other is the Nokia 808 41 MP PureView cell camera). Here is one of my first shots taken with the DP2Q. Firmware 1.01 (updated as soon as I got the camera) and processed raw as S-High tiff in SPP 6.05. Tiff was then run through Topaz Adjust 5, "mild details" filter to enhance micro contrast.

Great shot. I use Topaz also. It is good to see someone else who does.

I kind of thought Adjust would work well w the Quattro.

Thanks Ute. I like Topaz Adjust and I think it does help bringing out detail in the Q images.

Carl,

Very nice. I hope you are not disappointed with the DP2Q, or you may blame me! Like the Merrill, its one quirky camera that rewards time and effort.

Thank you Quentin and no, I wouldn't blame you at all. Your pioneering efforts with this camera and the M inspired me to try both. I'm still in the learning phase with the Q, but so far the results have been mostly quite pleasing.

I haven't visited Letchworth for years, but may go there this fall. It is about a 4 hour drive from Ithaca. The gorge is spectacular with the fall foliage. Going to visit friends in Greece in a couple of weeks and will give the Q a good workout there.

That should work out quite well.

I know you do a lot of Pano work.

Can you tell what you use hardware and software wise, and the approximate cost ?

Thanks in advance.

I've been using a Rhinocam stitching plate with A7R and A6000, but will be getting a Cambo Actus for the A7R. I use a MBA with 4gb ram and AutoPanoPro 3.x for stitching. Works well. I haven't tried panos yet with the Q.
