This camera is now available. It's a great compact. I got one and tested it in my own special way. It's getting very good reviews. Sales are going real good....sooooo
Where are the shooters with the LX5...

My name is Don... I'm out of the closet... I'm an LX5 shooter....

The camera must pass the Russian Lace Curtain Test.... very difficult indeed.

The Bathroom Test has been the failing of many cameras....

I have one but have been on the road a lot and have been working on different things so it really hasn't gotten a good workout....

Don,
The one bizarre thing is that after using the GF1/E-P1/E-PL1/NEX5, the LX5 actually feels too small.

In addition, I can't say enough how much I like the flip out screen on the NEX5. I hold the camera much lower and it feels so comfortable that way. Now with the LX5 it is back to being held higher up and further away from my body.

Very funny stuff! ;-)

Haven't been interested in the LX5. I'm waiting for the E-5 to arrive, then I'm saving up my pennies and then I'll wait to see how the X100 works out. I'd prefer a fixed focal length lens and a slightly larger camera: fits my hands better.

Thanks to you both,
The reason I have the camera is because of its size.
It fits in my jeans pocket easily and makes the perfect carr all the time camera.
I too wait for the X100 but that will not fit the pocket.

I got mine! But I'm still recovering from knee surgery so I can't get around much for shooting. Plus I have been trying to get some use out of the NEX5, although until some better AF lenses come along, I think I'm pretty much done with that. I am carrying the LX5 with me now, so hopefully I'll start to get some use out of it.

A quick one from the children's museum. I love the black and white feature and the square image option. A fun little camera.

I particularly like the Tanya shot. Looks like a great camera; I was teetering on the brink, but the missing raw conversion in Aperture and the lack of GPS held me back a bit. Added to the fact of the fun we've been having with the V_lux 20. Maybe later.

Jono,
If you convert the files to DNG, wouldn't Aperture read The DNG files?
I use LR so no issues. The GPS, well I keep that in the trucks....
I looked at The Leica but passed for the LX5, truly an amazing camera.
Hopefully later you'll see the light and grab one.
