yes, i hate dealing with dust. the xti does a good job.
one thing about bridge cameras: the 4/3 ratio. it's more contemplative than the 2/3.
the new g1 has three ratios available. i might consider one for my leica r lenses (quite an investment in them).
ah, when does a photograph cease being a photo? that's a great question. personally, i think a photo has a sense of time (and thus, perhaps, nostalgia and the fear of death) that gives it a certain bite. i love paintings, however they escape the temporal. so it seems to me a photo has to have a certain amount of detail which anchors it in our experience of what passes.
