Ayesha, take photos of beautiful tombs for an hour.

Spend the rest of your vacation amongst the people. Beauty of the living.

India is not the Taj.

India is its people. The ones that built the Taj.

One day I came across a wedding party on the streets.
Should I? Shouldn't I?

Rayyan would have smiled and gone right in.
I did the same.

I was welcomed. I joined the procession.

8 hours later I bade them farewell.
What a welcome. What an experience.

Went in as a tourist. But we parted as friends. Almost family.

A few more I have worked on..

The mayor of a village invited me for lunch with his family.

This is their family home for over 500 years.

Then there were the colors. OMG, so vibrant, so bright and happy.

Small detail from a wall of Sheesh Mahal ( Palace of Mirrors ).

The walls were fitted with small curved mirrors set in directions such that 1 candle would reflect light in 8 directions.

The wooden bed on which once slept a Mogul Queen.
The sides have been reinforced. Otherwise the wood has been left as is.
meticulous care is being taken to avoid wood rot to do further damage.

The walls are as they were then.
