Flowers with Finepix S5200

iso 800 1/180 f3.5 24.5mm
10X zoom, 5mp Super HR CCD, does RAW though not here.
The first small sensor camera I really liked.
Light, durable, quiet, and quite decent performance at a very low price.
It does not match my beloved GRD, but it does a very different job.
My only real complaint is the EVF, however for what I paid, I cannot complain.
I like it enough that I kept it when I sold my Coolpix S5, and gave away my Finepix f31.
It fills a nice little niche between the GRD and my K100D.
I tend to name things btw.
GRD is "lil'Ricoh", K100D with 50/1.4 is the "Big Eye".
S5200 is "Fuji-chan".

Hi Lili,

I was using a bunch of small sensor cameras for the past year and got on a flower and macro kick all spring. Here are a few taken with the Panasonic FZ8 (12x zoom) and many had a Nikon or Canon close up lens.

TEB,
Very lovely!
Some came up with "content protected by owner" tho.
One thing I like about small sensor cameras.
They can either be svelte, sleek and fast like the Grd's and GX100.
Or be compact and versatile like your Panny or my Fuji-Chan.
Normally I prefer primes, but my s5200 lens does remarkably well.
Since I have started doing RAW with it, I've been even more impressed.
Were yours RAW as well?

I will edit it. My fault on Zenfolio settings.

Thanks for the heads up.
Is cool.
Nice work!
My journey into digital started with the Coolpix S5.
Not a bad camera but no place for a die-hard film and Hexar user to start.
Then I got the S5200.
2 revelations with that.
Zooms CAN be good.
Digital CAN be good too.
The K100D came soon after as did the Finepix F31fd.
The Pentax worked with my K mount lenses VERY well.
But it is soo big and heavy.
The little Fuji F31fd did well too

But it allowed not enough and not easily accessible image controls so I gave it away.
The GRD was a God-Send and second-generation revelation.

And I've not looked back since.
The GRD goes everywhere with me.
And, if i expect long lens work, so does the S5200.
BTW, the freeware S7RAW works wonderfully with the RAW files from the S5200.
