All,
finally did it. Ground off 3mm from my ha-2 adapter. If I use 3:2 format,
with the Nikon wce-68 attached ,this has any vignetting under control.

I will leave the step up ring on the HA-2 as the reduced thread does not take up easily when screwing on the ring. Still no problem as my filters are all 46mm anyway.
