Yes, 18-55mm, fantastic camera with fantastic lenses.
All pictures freehand, no sun, without flash, out of camera - only resized with IrfanView ( www.irfanview.com )
Do you have a never ending variety of flowers in bloom in your garden? Amazing.
But to bring it back to the NEX--these are lovely, and esp knowing its with kit lens Very tempting.
lives 2km away, but visits garden/biotop daily
Hot, enjoy your photos a lot. A bit OT. you mentioned a biotop and I didn't know what it was so googled. I'd love to see some photos of it. This is relatively new to the US. Wish we had known when we put in our pond and then our pool. They overlook each other but we don't have the natural filtering that you have. Wonderful.
No wonder the cat visits from afar. All kinds of wildlife for it to hunt--plus such a nice place to sleep in the sun.
To bring it back to the NEX. I'm really impressed by this litte camera. Just don't want to consider adding yet another new system-yet. I'll keep checking this thread.
it's rainy, cloudy, dark (8:30 p.m.) .... 6400 ISO, FREEHAND !
It will be interesting to see how Panasonic answers these ISO 6400 shots with new releases at Photokina. Which lens for this last batch (image stabilized?)
Has anyone determined whether the high ISO NR settings affect RAW?
Has Iliah played around with the files like he did for the A900 and other Sony cameras?
Sorry Hot for going slightly OT.
These are fantastic, and what a garden!
That lens really is an eye opener isn't it. And the ludicrous high ISO makes it really useable too.
I'm loving mine, just wish I had more free time to play with it right now.
Just this guy you know
NEX5 + Canon 50mm/1.8 II - cloudy & dark & thunder ... aperture = 10
The page is just filled with stunning colors ! The lens is certainly acquitting itself well, considering it is just a humble "kit lens".
A900 with a few lenses, flashes etc.
A good lens must not be expensive, some people believe only expensive lenses are good. My last pictures above are made with Canon 50mm/1.8 II, price ~ € 90 (incl. 20% VAT)
Kit lenses for Canon or NEX ... additional price ~ € 100 also make fantastic pictures.
My three (manual) Korean Samyangs - all three fitting Canon 550D, Lumix GH1, NEX5 - have very low prices, but excellent quality.
test pictures NEX5 + Zenitar 16mm/2.8
Terrific pictures and what a camera!
With little skill and some exercise you can make really good 3D pictures (1920x1080) and 3D panoramas with NEX + movement.
Select 3D + size 1920x1080 ... that's all. Then make slow moving a 3D pano.
Nice to look at a Zalman 3D monitor (1680x1050 or 1920x1080) with €1-pol-glasses
For making 3D pictures you even need a tripod. Use NEX (or ANY OTHER camera), make a picture, move camera (freehand) for eye distance to right, make second picture ... reeeeady!
(free) StereoPhotoMaker turns/rotates .. both picture for a 1a 3D photo, looking
with every 3D monitor/projector/TV, pol glasses or red/blue glasses and so on.
This 3D pictures are flowers in my garden, all taken FREEHAND with NEX5 + 18-55mm,
you can use ANY other camera, even HelloKittyCam.
Make a picture, move some cm (eye distance) to right and make a second picture.
Then load both pictures into StereoPhotoMaker and autoadjust them. Ready.
You can look them on 3D monitor/projector/TV with active or passive pol glasses, red/green glasses and so on.
