Sharing some IR images from a broadband NEX-3

These are great! Considering removing the IR filter from my 7 or possibly get a second hand 3 or 5 and have it done. I only have the R72 filter though.

Thanks! The prices of NEX-3 in the used market is quite reasonable now. With the R72 filter, the AF mechanism still works and on MF mode, the Live View compensates and brightens the view for MF.

This image was shot with Hoya R72 (720nm) with the 18-55 OSS on AF mode:

did you notice an increase in edge sharpness after removing the aa/ir filter?
It is difficult to say because I never did a controlled comparison between an ICF-less NEX-3 and ICF-intact NEX-3. In theory, the unit without the ICF would be sharper but there are other factors to consider, such as the shooter's technique, lens utilized for test, and other technical issues that can affect the test.
