Last weekends lunar eclipse. This is the only time you can photograph a moon in front of a star field--the moon is normally too bright.

Many beautiful and inspired images in this thread! This from an early morning walk (RX1R in tow) in Prague back in August.

This one was shot in the Placitas Mountains in pure darkness, car was lit with a simple led flashlight. The orange color is light contamination coming from the nearby village of Placitas in New Mexico.

Took the RX1R out for a walk at Buttermilk Falls (low autumn flow).

Edit: Just noticed that there is a dead brown trout lying on the stream bottom just to the right of the reflection in the last shot above. There are both lake run brown trout and landlocked salmon spawning in the tributary streams right now.

Okay, y'all suckered me into buying and old beater RX1R and it's pretty darn nice. Only 4 days in, but I'm thinking I might have found my backup / carry everywhere camera.

For those of you considering an RX1/r or the RX1rII but can't really spend the money right now:

Fair warning. Don't look at any RX1 images on a 4k or 5k screen. Your eyes and your heart will take over. Hopefully, you'll still be able to make that mortgage payment.

The images below are the last two that I shot today with the RX1R. Camera is now sold and I'm waiting for the RX1RII to ship.

Well, I couldn't resist a lovely RX1 for less than the price of an RX100 m4... lagging edge wisdom!

Not much chance to use it yet, but couldn't resist a quick snapshot of this carved into a stone wall nearby - I hadn't noticed this before the santa's hat

Wonderful files, wonderful lens - this should keep me happy for a while, to let the RX1R2 drop in price a lot

I had forgotten how much I enjoyed shooting with my old E-P1, but once I got out into the countryside the old muscle memory returned and I realised that framing with the RX-1 LCD instead of an EVF is actually more pleasurable! one can see all around and a big clear view of the scene in the LCD... anyhow, that did surprise me.

Just getting to grips with the new workflow - it's frustrating not to be able to share these at much larger resolution... the files are spectacularly good.

I really think the RX1 was a perfect match of sensor to lens. As I've read from a number of owners, the files are wonderful to work with.

Wonderful files, wonderful lens - this should keep me happy for a while, to let the RX1R2 drop in price a lot

    Cheers

Indeed Brian. I took the A7RII to Amsterdam and it certainly does much better in low light, that aside I preferred everything I got from the RX1. I'm not sure I even want the newer version.
