    Re: Fun with the RX-1

Actually, I would happily pay for an upgraded firmware - in my alternate universe, Sony would contract a professional to conduct a user survey and QA check the resulting update.

I'd pay 100 for a decent upgrade. Of course, in an ideal world Sony would have already done this to support existing fans.

    Cheers

    Re: Fun with the RX-1

I am the rare one who actually likes the add on viewfinder.
Also, I never had any issues whatsoever w the AF on the Rx1R.
FWIS the new one would have to be about 2x's as good to justify the upgrade cost.
There is nothing wrong w the RX1R. It takes beautiful photos.

    Re: Fun with the RX-1

I'm not entirely happy with the flat front of the RX1, so I bought another Sony AG-R2 rubber grip and attached it :

    Name: _C070013 1.jpg
Views: 1566
Size: 634.2 KB

It improves the grip substantially, without adding any bulk - obviously, I'd love to be able to buy something which is specifically designed for the RX1.

    Kind regards

    Re: Fun with the RX-1

Come on more contributors needed. I can't be the only one using this antiquated camera any more

Anyhow a had a little free time today and decided to play with a composite. This is a shot taken with the Rx1 at Universal Studios' Harry Potter section combined with a photo I took at a Game of Thrones shoot a month or so ago with my A7RII. Obviously there was quite a bit of creative file manipulation as well. Not the normal photo on this forum but I thought a few might like it. Maybe I'll paste this on the A7 section as well since both cameras were used.
And yes, the dragon actually shoots fire every hour or so for a few seconds.

Nice shot, I like how you've mixed the inside and outside view.

I visited the same place last year, but took a more conventional shot there:

No reason the RX1 can't be used as an awesome landscape camera.
Despite it's compact size it's more than up to the task.

The thing is that we never really forget how good it really is. It was an investment but I truly believe that it's paid back in spades.

This is my first picture I am posting in this forum. I just bought this RX1R used from B&H and I am very pleased with this little jewel.

James Bradley was a well-known black abolitionist from the northern Kentucky area. A statue of him sits along the Ohio River walkway in Convington Kentucky. In 1834 he was the only black student at Cincinnati's Lane Seminary, and he spoke at the famous Lane Seminary debates.

I believe the only way is with a cable release screwed into the shutter button.
