A7R & PlayMemories Remote - Awesome!

Also if you have an Android phone that has NFC, NFC works beautifully. One tap and the camera and phone connect to each other and the appropriate apps are launched.

RAWs are stored on the SD card.
You have to set RAW & JPEG in the remote app of the camera (not in the actual camera menu for the image format).
I am using an iPhone ...
Thanks Thomas. Just tried it and works fine with RAW. There are a number of other options within the remote app as well. Up until now, I thought all it had was start and exit :0

Not the cleanest UI or workflow design, but hey it works.

I'd appreciate anyone using NFC with the a7(r) reporting the usable range along with the device you're using.

NFC is only used for the camera and phone to automatically negotiate a wi-fi connection. No photo data is transferred with NFC, its value is a convenience.

Can the live view be zoomed on the remote?

Graham
If you are manually focussing yes. Also works with AF lenses in DMF mode.

It is just like what you'd have on the EVF, but on a remote device it is a poor implementation in that you'll have to touch the camera to initiate the zoom.
