A7/7R user experiences wanted: Is it a keeper?

Set the menu Gear->3->AF w/ shutter->off. Then set Gear->6->Custom Key Settings->AF/MF Button->AF On.

I don't use it that way but then the shutter button doesn't focus and the AF/MF button acts as the focus button.

Yea that center button is my zoom and not sure I want to lose that.
