This is an odd picture. The only signs of winter here are the bare trees and frozen (but melting) pond. We usually have 2-3 feet of snow on the ground in Maine at this time of year. It's been a very mild winter thus far.

From my window on the other side. There was another castle standing at the top of the hill, the castle of Montorges. It was burned not long after its construction in the XIV or XVth century and never rebuilt. People of the surrounding villages have been stealing the stones to built their homes, so really not much remains of it. What you see on the left is a statue of the virgin with child.

Another one of my 10” x 8” Gandolfi transparency images taken with a 81EF warm up filter on a Schneider 165mm Super Angulon, at the Isle of Dogs (November 1988)...Also copied via A7RII + Sony 90mm macro via window light...At the time of the photograph I was working in the next door building along Marsh Wall, Canary Wharf, London.

Now move on 8 years later in time to 9 February 1996 (20 years ago) and this building went under a significant transformation by the IRA, in which several people were killed, 100 people hurt and £150 million worth of damage was carried out... https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/1996_Docklands_bombing

Warning: This live (at the time) video may possibly upset (1.03 min) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=whxrifEEjMU

    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tK23...jq6IR5Jm6yxTg_

The building was later completely demolished and replaced by the Hilton London, Canary Wharf.

This image remains a lasting record to that building.

Thank you for your comments. I love travelling in Ethiopia. Ever since my first trip in April 2014, I decided to make another trip to cover those places I did not visit during my first trip. This image was captured under harsh afternoon light in a market place in Lalibela. The A7RM2 sensor is so good, I was able to recover details in the deep shadow areas and at the same time the highlight details were preserved. Interestingly, most of my images during this trip were captured with the A7RM2, rather than with my M240.

I was out on my deck tonight enjoying the full moon and decided to have some more fun with the smooth reflections app. Mostly, I wanted to see for myself how it stacked moving elements in the frame. This was 32 exposures, as can be seen by counting the number of ferry lights!

    Ghost ferry.

Please excuse the subpar technique - I didn't feel like dragging a beastly tripod out tonight! And besides, who doesn't enjoy a bit of camera shake once in a while?

Ok, now for a silly moonrise shot.

    Ghost ferry #2.

The lights near the horizon on the right are the University of British Columbia, in Vancouver. The lights a bit higher up are some of the taller buildings downtown. The red lights near the moon are communications towers on the local mountain peaks.

Re: Fun with the Sony A7 Series Cameras( all of them)

I was in Uruguay for two and a half weeks for holidays. The land is more or less a big meadow for cows with a beautiful beach on the whole coastline and a nice capital called Montevideo. I had the chance to get there with friends, that have relatives there.

It was very recovering and I had (of course) the chance to shoot some pics. Let's start with some cars. They have a lot of old cars in a desastrous condition. But they still look beautiful...

From a cold January morning, rue des Cèdres, Sion

Sony A7r2 and FE55mm F1.8 I had only that lens with me and it was a little too long.. I have to return there. It is the home of the city and then state architect and an example of the construction of the beginning of the XXth century (or may be even the end of the XIXth century).

As I can see, after three weeks in absence, you are still addicted to this lens. This is a better sign, than any review.
I'm really happy with it. Sadly, I had cut off a part of my thumb yesterday. So, it's hard to operate with the wheel on the back of the camera.

Re: Fun with the Sony A7 Series Cameras( all of them)

Your two last pictures are beautiful Barry, I particularly like the one of the South Brentor farm with its smooth curves and the mix of green pastures and yellow fields. Those pastel hues (yellow green blue) are in great harmony. And that white cloud took a perfect position above the fields. Well done !
