Well composed and timed. Thanks for sharing. "Vanishing Point" perhaps.

Thank you Vivek, yeah I know and I also realise it’s a far cry from the 55mm f/1.8 FE in terms of sharpness, nonetheless I still do love the (WO to f/2) Noctilux style rendering from this lens but the (build) quality has always put me off

I like my 50mm F/0.95 Mitakon, a bit heavy, but well built.
Stopped down it gets quite sharp
    Weren't there two versions?
I think I got the second one.
If I remember correctly it performed slightly better on a Kolari modefied Sony.
    With best regards, K-H.

Barry, nice little series. The first two are my favorite.

Joe, thank you for the kind words and for taking the pain to write it. The likes icon makes us a little lazy. I should have said that I really liked your two last flower pictures.

I'm still working for the project on hydroelectric power plants, but I have taken so many pictures that it will take time to sort them out. However, while I'm out I do still shoot other things. Here is a view of the main river crossing all the Valais from east to west : the Rhône. Given all the rain we got these past weeks and the melting snow, the flooding waters were impressive.

I wouldn’t usually call pictures of lenses fun, exactly (“Fun with …” being the start of the thread title). Informational, certainly.

And given that one at least is for sale …

Thanks very much. It's a hyper-sharp lens. This shot was hand-held and I picked the best of several attempts. I was too lazy to use a tripod. In your neck of the woods, my preferences are wide, super-wide and hyper-wide. You've captured that landscape very well in your images.

And I thank you in return.
I'd grab that Loxia 21 but I prefer the AF of the Batis.
The 18 is a bit too wide for my general needs.
I simply can't afford all the great lenses for the A7RII so I have to be selective.
There are so many and the list is growing every day.

Barry, what is that drink (as suggested by the arrows in its name) supposed to do?

Vivek, I honestly don't know!...It probably gives you an instant 6 pack and makes you invincible
What I did notice was the bullet hole though his chest ...So it obviously doesn't make you popular

From the series "Hydroelectric power plants". This is the coupling station of Chamoson, linked to the power plants of Nendaz and Bieudron. It lies on the other side of the stream and is linked through a bridge. The light was what it is.. We are now having rains and clouds since about one month..

A7rm2 and 90mm F2.8 macro. This is a stitch of several shots.

It was a shock to see that : this coupling station and its power plant are linked to the highest gravity dam ever built in the world (and the 5th biggest of all). It was a pride for the region. But the hydroelectric power producers are all in crisis. They are loosing money when they sell the power : they are suffering from the competition of small renewable and decentralized power producers (solar, wind etc..) which are strongly subsidized by the EU. And now Alpiq the society owning these installations is trying to sell its shares and there aren't so many interested, save for the Chinese. Their other plant of Chandoline (the one with which I started the series and my favorite one) has been stopped in 2013 due to over capacity. I was shocked to see the dilapidated state of some buildings, like this one.

The place unlike others is very quiet. And some view can be quite poetic. For instance I liked those curving wires.

I took a lot of pictures, way to many and the editing is painful. I will show others in the coming days. But more pictures can already be seen in an album of my Flickr account :

(NB : the Flickr website is secure... the problem lies with GetDPI, so it is safe to ignore the warning you may get).
