    Just a fun snapshot!
Been playing with the FE 70-200 at 200 mm. Need to use 1/250 with the a7r but a very sharp lens indeed. I'm looking forward to using it on the a7II.

Michiel - I love the muted colors and tones in this shot.

It reminds me that not all shots need 10 zones of tonal range, nor do they need lots of saturation. Sometimes "subtle" works a lot better.

How dare you Barry! These Dalek's soon will rule the world, I tell you....

Thank you dandrewk! One gets lucky with a glimpse of the sun through a cloudy sky.

Here's another one from that same shoot. You can feel why the people of Zeeland, who live below sealevel, are living in fear of God.

I actually got caught out by a wave taking that image!

Hermann, thank you so much for your very kind words. There are so many great photographers that frequent this forum. Everyone here inspires me with their work, every single day. I make pictures that make me feel good, but it's very gratifying to know that others like some of them too. You made my day!

Gordon Bennet Barry - I've spent a longer portion of my like on that platform. I used to catch the train from StIves to Penzance to go to school - Nice picture too.

Thank you also Werner...I spotted that lovely fountain (as a reflection behind the column) in your earlier casino image...nice one.

    David...Clever title and well seen.

Michiel...Lovely light catching each one of those supports.

Jono...Thanks, it was bitterly cold just standing there for a few minutes in the middle of the afternoon...Glad I didn't have to do it daily like you.

Barry, I recognize the color of the water from the other side of the channel. We should cross it one day and meet.
Inspite of the tabloids I do sometimes dare to put my feet on English soil.

Cornwall isn't England so you should be fine
The weather is just ghastly here at the moment, so you wouldn't want to visit Cornwall on a day like today
I used to travel to France every year...But now I find myself having to keep within a couple of hours drive of my parents, just in case of an emergency (not an excuse, or a poor old me story just a fact of life as things stand).
I would love to meet up with you Michiel...Perhaps one day we will, that would be great
    Cheers Barry

Michiel, all pictures were taken in Hoorn.
But when I see your bridge photo, we have to travel to Middelburg again.

We like the Netherlands and especially the people who live there.

Chris...What on earth could you have possibly done wrong to end up getting yourself exiled from this beautiful county?
Looe has so many potential photo opportunities, I just can't see myself stopping anytime soon ....Cheers Gordon

Strictly fun - not art. A7r with FE 24-70 at 24 mm and very heavily cropped. I should have zoomed to 70 mm but he was too quick for me - the centre holds up pretty well though. This is essentially at 100%.

Playing around with trying to get exif on the camera for a Nikon lens. With the Metabones MkIII adapter and an EMF AF confirm chip can now program it but the camera only does metering at f/2.

Very nice photo. I am interested in the CV 12mm as a possible replacement for my old Sigma 12-24mm lens. Would you happen to have experience of how the Sigma compares (corner sharpness, color cast, distortion, etc.) to the CV 12mm? I have the older version Sigma but comparisons to the new would also be useful.

    Regards,
    John

    Thanks John,

    the distortion is absolutely OK
    Corner Sharpness OK
Color cast extremely present, but can control with LCC

    There's a reason why I bought the FE 16-35mm.
photos from darkness or with dark edges, the LCC doesn´t work
This is the main reason for changing

You're welcome! I always enjoy your photos. You've made some excellent images with the amazing lenses you use. And thanks for the info. I find it better to get direct answers from someone who has the lens. On-line reviews always leave me with questions.

    Regards,
    John
