    hi Barry
I'm really sorry to hear that - having suffered myself for over 30 years I really do sympathise . . . I was finally sorted out by a sports physiotherapist, and I've been okay for the last 15 years (touch wood!).

Kevin Miller and Cam Wilder came to stay over new year - we had a LOT of fun.
I'm not sure how appropriate to post pictures of Leica biscuits on a Sony forum (taken with an A7ii) but they seemed too good not to post.
Kevin brought these splendid biscuits (delicious too) nestled in black tissue in a beautiful red box.

Now there are only a few left!

Those red dots can leave you with rather a bad taste in your mouth
My poor sense of humor is returning, so I must be getting better

Many thanks Jono Re: Back pain message^^^
I won't bang on about it as we all get them from time to time, I have a chiropractor that normally sorts me out, having also suffered from back pain problems for years...This time I was more than grateful of my 2 old buddies Diazepam and Solpadol...The time spent in bed whizzes past but then so did Christmas and several pages turned here also! :sleep006::sleep006::sleep006:

Considering I hadn't made a cookie ever until Christmas eve, they turned out OK !!

though it was a rather intense period of research and development

Re: Fun with the Sony A7 Series Cameras( all of them)

In return for a box of handmade Leica cookies, Jono was kind enough to let me loose with his A7 II and a bunch of my legacy lenses lenses that have been sitting in a drawer for the last couple of years. The lenses were bought originally for using on micro 4/3, but as the native m43 lenses are so good, they have been gathering dust until now.

these are pretty much straight out the box JPEGs, with only minor cropping, and some B/W conversion in Aperture. No focus peeking… just unpractised eyeballs !!

    Overall a surprisingly satisfying experience!!!

    Nikkor 50/1.2

    Contax85/1.4

    Olympus OM 24/2

    Olympus OM 100/2.8

and one I can’t recall which lens

suspect you might see more of me in this forum in the future

    happy new year

    Great shot as always Werner!

I'm curious, are you using a 10 stop ND filter for these water shots?

Re: Fun with the Sony A7 Series Cameras( all of them)

    12mm comparison on the A7S

I rented the Voigtlander-Cosina 12mm to compare it to the Sigma 12-24mm zoom (first version).

There are differences so depending on your needs it's a matter of weighing the pluses and minuses.

First is the ludicrous difference in size. The Sigma is gigantic compared to the VC. Between the lens and the LAEA3 adapter, the A7S is just a tiny part of the combination. The V-C is actually pretty balanced on the A7S and is nice for walking around.

Another difference is vignetting. The Sigma has much less light fall-off compared to the V-C.

With respect to sharpness I would say that the V-C is sharper wide open. As the lenses are stopped dowwn they become close. Corner sharpness seems to follow the same pattern.

And finally, since my Sigma is an A-mount lens I get the metering, autofocus and metadata in the camera.

All that being said and seeing how they provide pretty comparable results I am sorely tempted to add the V-C 12mm to my lens shelf.

    Regards,
    John

I'm planning to come indeed. Trying to make the opening on Jan 10. Looking forward to see some of you "in real life" Don't know my exact travel plans to Amsterdam yet, but will most probably drive back to the Antwerp area in the evening of the 10th. So if someone needs a lift let me know.

Spent another night with wife helping our friend put finishing touches on his gym.. opens tomorrow.

Shot some images for his website/etc with Sony A7s & Zeiss 25/2.8 ZM lens
Happy with cameras performance in mixed indoor lighting after dark..
Shooting fast shutter/small aperture and high ISO.

And a final one with the Sony Zeiss FE 35/2.8

Re: Fun with the Sony A7 Series Cameras( all of them)

@ f 1,0: in your 2 "blue sky" pictures (the ship and the diving tower) I see a dust blob so your sensor might need a little wash (or some cloning will fix it as well). Shooting at f 1,0 usually doesn't show dust, but with an f 4,0 lens it starts coming out

Out again with the 16-35/4. The Guggenheim is such a good chunk of abstract architecture - perfect for distorted perspective!

And here's the A7II pretending to be a technical camera

    Having fun,
