Why would Bob want to do anything nasty like that, there is room for everyone! Straightining out horizons automaticly would take a lot of work out of our hands

So they are coming back, I hope they do remember what I liked and who liked mine

In all the flickr sizes there's not one that fits the maximum size of this site, so I use my largest one otherwise it would be smaller.
At least the pages are faster renewed of lately.
I am not the only one, there are more people quilty of charge around here

    Chad (SP),

Another outstanding set of photos. Your review was great - it made me want to begin thinking of another Sony body once the a900 hits it last strides.

Your photo processing is just as good as your photography. Can you give us a few hints on how you post process.

    Again, terrific stuff.

Guilty. I may have to modify this practice as well.

I'm glad they're coming back, but I will have to completely rely on the electronic memory of the website to remember what was liked and what not. And if not no big deal either. I like most of what I see here anyway (at least when the horizon is straight ).

Vivek...Thank goodness it’s only a rumour and that it’s going to be optional
Otherwise images like this one on another thread, from our own resident “Horizon Police” are going to be pretty small once trimmed up

Absolutely stunning! A very powerful image that is too strong for a simple "Like". One of the best I've seen in any forum with any camera.

Hopefully if things go as planned, likes will return today along with the restoration of history.
We have a good backup this time and are changing to a more secure code-set for likes.

I agree with Joe's comment. No need for the likes because they tend to make us lazy. Better to write out our appreciation.

Thanks for the kind comments Joe! I was attracted by the smoke rising up from the village in the far distance. When I zoomed in at 400mm, I could see the strong light illuminating the smoke and at the same time creating a sort of glow around the buildings. I bought this lens back in 2010 for my trip to Namibia and S. Africa. This is the second time I am using this lens.

Thanks Barry. The first could have used some stacking for greater dof, but I'm usually too impatient for that.

And Michiel, I do hope to make it back to that lovely city someday. The last time I visited was a few months before the switch to the Euro - back in the days of 3mp digital cameras!

What a good composition. It reminds me of an impressionist painting. Something about the look that is very "painterly." Is that intentional? If so I envy your technique. Lower in this thread you joked about the Amsterdam Tourist Board but they could do a lot worse than using this shot in their campaign.

    Thank you John!

I always try to frame well and use all the pixels, although I had to straighten out this one a bit but I was lucky the lady with the sunglasses was still peeping out the lower left corner.

Really great shots here. I especially like the first one but knowing how great the 50 Planar design is REALLY highlights how special the 35 Distagon rendering is.

Doel, a completly (almost) abandoned small town near Antwerp, due to the Antwerp harbour expansion. There is also a huge nuclear power plant next door to complement the interest to live there.

Interesting. My caption for the last shot would be: "Hedging their bets!" It's a very bizarre juxtaposition.

What an amazing set of things in that frame! A windmill, park benches, children play area, a pub and a nuclear power plant. Surely, a great tourist "hot-spot"!

A hot-spot it is for sure! A very surrealistic place.

Zeiss site said register to notify of the new Batis lenses. I did. An enquiry to Zeiss was met with an immediate response and a push for the Loxii. I told them I already have adequate lenses covered by the current Loxi.
