Here we go.......Tabels At The Lake II"....
Werner; consider me indulged. That's very very nice, and it still has loads of potential for playful tonal pushing and pulling.

Thank you.

First day it has been above freezing this month. Took the A7II with the Contax G 45mm f/2 Planar out for a waterfront walk.

Great stuff all.
Still in awe of the see-in-the-dark magic A7s.

Friends birthday in an exceptionally dark bar, packed light with the 35/2.8 instead of fast glass, and 1/30th shutter because well.. it's a bar.
Was shooting ISO 25.6k - 32k, and pushed a 1/2 to full stop in post..

One thing I have noticed when pushing to ISO 32k or so - frequently seeing what looks like light leak around edge, particularly bottom left of image.. looks like a purple haze.
Am I unique in this finding, or is this common? I'm not to fussed about it since its an absurdly high ISO, but wondering if I have a defect unit at all.

It's not evident in photos above due to cropping/vignette adjustments/etc. Will dig up a separate sample..

Steve, Google "Amp Glow". I don't think there is any problems.

Re: Fun with the Sony A7 Series Cameras( all of them)

OK so I went back and applied some minimal edits that show the purple haze best..

First image was ISO 32000 + 2 stop push (I know ISO 128k, nuts right?)

Next image was ISO 32000 + 1 stop push + lens profile correction (LR5 built in)

A few observations:
- Need to be around ISO 64k equivalent before really prevalent
- Visible at ISO 32k sometimes if I look for it and don't process around it
- Not on every shot .. maybe a camera heat issue (how long camera has been on)
- Always in the same place (1/4 up the left side edge, all along the bottom)

Thanks Vivek, tied posting at the same time!

That makes sense. I was googling for the wrong term before..

I figured there would be a limit before some artifacts showed up (I come from Leica land and am used to banding capping my ISO)..
Looks like realistic A7s limit is ISO 32k before this starts showing up.. but maybe won't matter for video as much due to crop factor.
Good stuff.

It is in the blood (glasses, and rain makes it bit challenging). :)

The top picture shows whitish stripes (vertical as well as horizontal)almost like a frame, Barry. I guess it is from the stacking?

Hi Vivek...Sometimes you can see the frame as you say from the stacking, generally clicking outside the image normally makes it disappear or just try refreshing the page - Otherwise it's beyond my control :(

A few shots taken on a stream walk in the gorge below my home. All with the A7II and Voigtlander 75mm f/2.5 SL Color-Heliar (Nikon mount lens in Novoflex adapter). Exposure data in exif.
