Awesome scenery.
Thanks for sharing.

P.S. I lived and worked in NZ for a couple of years and I am still kicking myself that for not visiting the South Island. :(

Crazy! :loco: I was alerted to the grandeur of NZ on seeing Brian Brake’s Milford Sound. Living in Australia, I have not managed to get over the pond to date. ;)

And the people!

I just love the texture of this facade; and how the 24-70mm GM renders it.

This was shot in a narrow alley, so the space was very confined. I did a hand-held panorama of 10 shots, stitched in Autopano Giga and seasoned to taste with LR.

South Island is just so beautiful. I went there in early summer. My friends and I drove from Auckland all the way to the South Island which was like a differenct world. I mean, the North Island is extraordinary, we love Auckland and Taupo, but the diversity of the landscape in the South is just absolutely amazing.

It took us about three hours to reach the west coast from Christchurch through Arthur's Pass, there were moutains, rivers, country roads, coastline and even glacier. Sometimes we felt the driving itself was actually more heaven-like than stopping at a specific spot. I lived in Australia for a couple of years, it is amazing too, but usually there is a 4-hour drive on a straight highway to another good spot, sometimes it is exhausting.

I could go on but then it becomes something very long, so I should probably stop. But, The Ute, next time if you had the chance, I personally think the South Island is a heaven for people like photogrphy.
