Ta muchly. Yes they're fun, aren't they.

I did another of Herbies Chippy in Moorland Road, but they need people in the pic to make them work, don't you think. May do a series.

Those were at about 1000ASA, but I have discovered this is how to shoot at 12,800ASA and get noise-free results!!! As per the last two street pics.

Re: Fun with the RX100 III

Stumbled into this wonderful market just as I was about to leave Vienna. Walked up one side and back down the other, snapping away.
All un-fiddled files, apart from slight cropping here and there. Hope I'm making you hungry

    I'm in the Cafe Einstein.
    It's cold outside.
I've come in for a quick snifter.
Notice how Albert has managed to be not only in 2 places at once but also in 2 different phases of his life at once.
He must have been a clever little chappie, you know.

Re: Fun with the RX100 III

i saw a woman come into this building
and watched her silently mouth the words
    oh wow
    and i thought
    oh yes
    do you remember when
    once upon a time
they did all this for that
and now that that that has all but disappeared
    only this this remains

It may have escaped your attention, but since my recent visit to Vienna and the subsequent posting of some pretty pictures on this esteemed forum, Vienna has been voted the best city in the whole wide world in which to live. It would be nice to think that the two events are in some way connected

This is the atmospheric Cafe Leopold Hawelka.

    Haven't managed very much recently.

    However,

A while back I spent a couple of days in the lovely little village of La Brigue, in the Alpes-Maritimes.

    Cheers,

Long time; no 'see', Gandolfi...! Good to see that you're putting the MkIII to good use.

There's something nicely 'HC-B' about the first of these shots...

...but at the end of the fifteenth century, about the time Columbus sailed across the pond, it had been a hive of activity.

Jean Baleison and Jean Canavesio were busy covering all the walls and ceiling with frescoes depicting the the Passion of Christ and the Last Judgement.

It's like the Sistine Chapel in the Alps!

Re: Fun with the RX100 III

This is Menton old town. Rather lovely!!
I fiddled about with ColEfex then used a filter in P/shop Elements6 called 'poster edges' which gives a slightly thicker and more defined edge to things.
    Useful occasionally.

I called in at the Fox and Badger for re-fuelling.
I took six snaps and threw one away, then I cycled home.
    Slightly straightened soocs.

    Point and shoot!
Through the train window, images are but fleeting moments.
I glimpsed this scene of the village of Saorge in the Alpes Maritime out of the back of my head, 1/1600 @ 1.8.
Straightened and cropped a bit etc.

I was last on that over 50 years ago! as it to and fro'd between Essex (Southend-on-Sea) and Kent across the Thames when I was a nipper

I think the sister ship the Medway Queen is still buried in the mud off of the Isle of Grain (Kent)...I documented it with film and a Leica M4 many, many years ago.
I had to wait between tides to get on and off her as it submerged twice a day...Anyway thanks for sharing, much enjoyed....Cheers Barry
