Hi guys!
I’m currently thinking about buying a new camera. At the moment I own a Sony NEX-6, which I mainly use with the Minolta M-Rokkor 28mm/2.8, Voigtländer Nokton 50mm/1.5 (LTM) and Contax G 90mm/2.8.
While I really like the camera, I start to think that the Sony APS-C system wasn’t really made for me. The native lens selection on m43 is more appealing to me and the 1.5x crop factor on my FF lenses is a bit annoying from time to time.
I’ll probably sell my NEX-6 and buy a Sony A7 II or Olympus EM-1. Two very different but equally tempting cameras. One of the deciding factors for me is the usability of the 3 former named lenses on the Sony.
The Contax G 90mm and Nokton 50mm look very nice on the original A7, so I guess they will perform more or less the same on the A7 II. I’m a little worried about the M-Rokkor, most 28mm M-Mount lenses aren’t that stellar on this cameras. I have only found a handful of images (without any comments about PP or something) and not a lot of written information about this lens (one of the few examples) .
Before I spent that much money on a camera I would like to read more impressions about this lens/camera combination. CA and smearing doesn’t seem to be an issue on the A7r, but how much does the lens vignette on the A7(II)? I would also enjoy a few pictures.
The M-Rokkor is probably not the most used 28mm lens used with the A7, but maybe there are a few people that can help me.
Thanks in advance.
Best regards, Julian.
