That's a great lens Matt (I've got it as well)Putting your subject at ease...

Indeed, it's very nice - character, color, and detail. And, obviously, a close minimum focus! I'd say more, but Vivek would yell at me again. That's a great lens Matt (I've got it as well)
I totally agree--I'd love to see a full-frame version of the A6000 and some primes from Sony in this size.To me this shot really shows what my hopes for the system have been, highly compact, high quality full frame rig. The 40cron makes the body look big, and for me it really is too big (the A7II worse yet).
Others disagree, and I respect that: the next set with the wonderful Leica R glass looks very nice, but I would prefer not to carry that.
On the stock A7 my 40cron (the m-rokkor version) was OK. Now on the A7.mod it really is something very close to great.

that's around f/4
In the long landscapes the edges are quite good, but you do still see some fall-off in the deep corners, which I suspect is unavoidable even on the M digitals.
I missed your complaints Vivek - now's your chance to wax lyrical all over againOh, no! :facesmack: Feel free to wax any lyrics as you please!
I will just remind you that Michiel (who influenced you to buy the lens) talked with his images.

Mine came without the lens hood - which makes it a bit easier to use!Hi Matt,
I hardly use this lens to point directly to near by people although it does rather well as a portrait lens. It can be a frightening fat lens.
I've been using the Leica R 80-200 f4, it's a nice lens, and not too big (I think it was actually made by Kyocera as well). The 70-200 though is 5,5 cm shorter then the C/Y version.
Finding the lens hood for the 50/1.2 is a bit of a problem. Try to get one. It really needs one and the right one too.I missed your complaints Vivek - now's your chance to wax lyrical all over again
