The versatility of the a7 series. (AKA more camera porn).

The weather here is not conducive to serious shooting, so strictly for fun, here's some evidence of the extraordinary adaptability of the a7 series. All shot with the a7II and FE 24-70 at 50 mm.

First, in natural state - the medium format challenger.

Next, with "A" mount lenses, in this case a Sigma macro.

Now with Leica screw mount, a Voigtlander 12 mm.

With M42 screw mount, a Yashinon 50 mm F1.4.

And finally with medium format lenses - an SK 55 mm LS, my favourite landscape lens on MF.

Clockwise:

Cosina 12/5.6, Russar 20/5.6 (on A7s), Cosina 15/4.5, Elmar 35/3.5, Hektor 2.8cm f/6.3. All work fine and can be carried inside the pockets of the cloths worn. :)

^^ LOL, a case of lost identity. Surrounded by strangers, no one can recognize it as an A7s anymore. Very nice set-up Vivek. I'm building toward a small set of lenses just like yours (though not quite as small).

Many thanks Bill.
How does the SK 55 mm LS perform on the A7R?
Could you please show an example. TIA.

When I'm home next week I'll be sure to post my A7(all versions) outfits. Most importantly A7r plus canon T/S is the killer combo.

For me, the most versatile and satisfying camera system ever.

I'm just about done assembling the kit. (At the risk of sounding like Guy) ;)

Only need to add a super-wide...probably the CV 12mm.

Crap I'm feeling weak here . I only have 6 lenses. Lol
Yeah, but that 1635 counts for at least 4 ;)

It's only in the last few weeks that I've honestly felt the A7 to be truly versatile, though I have owned one since 12/13 and had an A7r even before that (which I returned). I sent it off to get the thin Kolarivision sensor cover glass, then, right after it came back, my M9 needed a new shutter, so I've been really shooting it again with many lenses. I like it much better now :)

Not as exotic as other folks', but here is what I'm shooting the most.

I once had a Leica M3 and my favorite lens was an old Summicron 50/2/ The ethereal quality of that lens was superb.
Now looking at Mike's favorite Summicron-R 50 /2 I wonder if they render the same.
Any ideas?

Nice gear, everyone! I started the Sony FE Gear group on flickr a while back to share images like this. I noticed a lot of you are on flickr as well, so take a look and feel free to share there also:

Here's my contribution to this thread (Leica 40mm f2 Summicron-C):
To me this shot really shows what my hopes for the system have been, highly compact, high quality full frame rig. The 40cron makes the body look big, and for me it really is too big (the A7II worse yet).

Others disagree, and I respect that: the next set with the wonderful Leica R glass looks very nice, but I would prefer not to carry that.

On the stock A7 my 40cron (the m-rokkor version) was OK. Now on the A7.mod it really is something very close to great. :)

that's around f/4

In the long landscapes the edges are quite good, but you do still see some fall-off in the deep corners, which I suspect is unavoidable even on the M digitals.
