You wouldn't believe it- it is only 1399 Euros (and available) here!Hard choices but dropping 1700 on the 35 1.4 right now when I can get basically two lenses just makes more sense. I hate being logical. Lol
If they stick to their old ways, yes. Given the Sony FE 28/2 is only 49mm filter with excellent AF, they should be able to make f/2 primes (wide and tele) with 46mm filter. The Loxia's are all supposed to have a common 52mm filter size and 180 degree focus throw between all 5 as well. Which will probably mean smaller apertures on the wide and telephoto sides if that's the case still.
True but the 55FE also has a 49mm filter thread and f/1.8 aperture. The 35/2.8 may as well but I've sold mine some time ago because it was too slow and sterile for me.If they stick to their old ways, yes. Yeah. The ZM50 Planar and the Leica 35 Cron ASPH were my favorite 2 lenses in the M and I even owned the 50 Lux ASPH FLE. I actually preferred the rendering of the 50/1.5 C-Sonnar to the 50 Lux but didn't wanna deal with focus shift on an M. So I tend to agree with you that when Zeiss gets it right then they make some of the best lenses out there on any system. I'm hoping for a 21 or 25 and maybe something in the 75-100 range.I always liked Zeiss glass and had them in many variations . I like the color saturation, contrast and mostly like the build quality. One more important thing is I never meet a Zeiss lens I could not manually focus very well.
Good call! The 35/2.8 may as well but I've sold mine some time ago because it was too slow and sterile for me.
Yeah but I do still love the 55FE... This lens actually got me thinking about getting it as a lighter walk around pair for daytime shots. The 35 Distagon is already on order but this may pair well with the 55. Glad to read the 28 doesn't exhibit IR hotspots as well.Good call!
I can confirm it. Shot with a NEX-C3 (that is the converted one I had at hand), Heliopan RG780. Shot well stopped down to check for spots. Also, no distortion corrections were applied (APS-C).Glad to read the 28 doesn't exhibit IR hotspots as well.
