This lens may be the deciding factor as to whether I even keep my A7r body.

To be clear, I am not overly impressed with the A7r or any of the current A7 bodies. To date, I use it for fun with the Mitakon 50 or the plastic fantastic Holga ( ) And I enjoy it for what it is with those. But the reality remains I am not enamored by the system, and specifically the total absence of good, dedicated AF glass. Granted, several outstanding manual lenses are available to mount on it, but I can mount most all of the Zeiss versions on my Nikon -- and IF I wanted to go MF, then I would go all Zeiss for consistency in look. But I don't want to go MF. In fact, I don't particularly enjoy it with even the Mitakon.

For me, I think this lens could keep me interested. It is sharp enough and I like the look, but with the distortion I remain skeptical on my longer-term interest...

Great photo of the floating reader :)

In that shot, I'm noticing a lot of cyan bleed in the dark/light transitions, especially around the tree branches. Fixable in post though.

But it just works for me, and I have a large selection of great AF lenses I already own, and pleny more available! I don't notice the weight or size when shooting, but admit I feel it a little on my shoulder when schlepping -- not enough to sway me away though ;)

I know just busting on you. LOL

Ill be happy with the A7r replacement and the new Zeiss 35mm 1.4. Honestly its not totally there yet and sometimes its a pain.

Thanks but I am unsure if it can be fixed. :(

Jack, I found this today people doing (and even influencing the next gen- it is a NIKON! ;) ) exactly what you use or abuse the A7r for.
