IBIS and choosing a focal length?

Guys,

I know that when using non native lenses on the A7II and the A7RII you have to select the focal length you're using, but does this also apply when using the LA-EA3, LA-EA4 and Canon EOS lenses with an electronic connected adapter?

If the lens/adapter combination reports focal length (in other words, you can see the correct focal length in the EXIF data of your shots), then you don't need to set it manually.
